Blue Wing Olive


Hook - snymph 2X sizes 14 - 18
Thread - olive
Tail - lemon woodduck fibers
Rib - brown thread
Body - medium olive rabbit dubbing
Wingcase - grey goose wing quill fibers
Thorax - med olive dubbing
Hackle - brown partridge hackle

Breadcrust




Hook - nymph 2X sizes 8 - 14
Thread - black
Body - burnt orange rabbit dubbing
Rib - stripped ruffed grouse tail quill and fine copper wire
Hackle - grizzly hen hackle or soft rooster hackle

Early Brown Stone


Hook - nymph 2X sizes 10 - 14 wtd
Thread - tan
Tail - ginger goose biots
Body - medium brown rabbit dubbing
Wingcase - dark mottled tukey quill
Thorax - medium brown rabbit dubbing
Legs - brown hen hackle fibers beard style.

Tail - black rubber hackle forked
Body - black chenille
Legs - black rubber hackle - 3 pr equally spaced on body
Comments - Classically tied all black, buy can use any colors.

Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear Nymph


Hook - standard nymph hook - e.g., Mustad 3906B Tiemco 2302 sizes 8 - 16
Thread - black
Tail - hare's mask guard hairs
Body - hare's ear dubbing
Rib - fine oval gold tinsel
Wing case - mottled turkey tail
Thorax - hare's ear dubbing

Light Cahill

Body - red fox (aka - sandy fox, buff fox, cream fox)
Wing case - lemon woodduck flank fibers
Hackle - usually none or lemon woodduck flank tips of wing case wrapped back

Body - bright green antron yarn

Comments - may tie without bead, can weight with lead wire underneath

Pink Shrimp



Hook - shrimp hook Mustad 80250 or Tiemco 2457 sizes 12 - 18 wtd.
Thread - pink
Tail - fl. pink hackle fibers
Rib - clear monofilament
Shellback - ane strand of pearl flashabou with clear plastic over
Body - fl. pink antron dubbing well picked out
Antennae - fl. pink hackle fibers (optional)
Comments - can substitute orange, olive, grey or other colors for pink. Very effective pattern

Prince



Hook - nymph 3X long
Thread - black
Tail - brown goose biots
Body - peacock herl
Rib - fine flat gold tinsel
Wings -white goose biots
Hackle - brown hen hackle or soft rooster
Comments - Weighted prince will incorporate several turns of soft lead wire. The bead head Prince nymph is best ties on a 2 or 3X dry fly hook to accomodate the bead head.

San Juan Worm - red



Hook - Tiemco 2457 or Mustad 80200 size 10
Bead - brass bead (optional)
Thread - fl. red
Body - fl. red ultra chenlle with ends burned

Tellico



Hook - nymph 3X long sizes 10-16
Thread - black
Tail - natural guinea body feathers
Case or shell back - ringneck pheasant tail fibers
Body - yellow floss
Rib - peacock herl (single strand)
Hackle - furnace hen or webby furnace rooster hackle
Comments - Webby rooster hackles are easier to come by. Simply purchase a low grade rooster cape. The weighted version uses a few turns of soft lead wire.

White Larva (caddis)



Hook - nymph 2X sizes 10 - 18
Thread - brown
Rib - fine gold wire (optional)
Body - white wire, tubing, ultra chenille, or antron
Legs - brown partridge hackle or hen hackle
Head - peacock herl

Zug Bug



Hook - standard nymph hook (1X long)
Thread - black
Tail - short peacock sword fibers
Body - peacock herl
Wingcase - lemon woodduck clipped short
Hackle - brown, usually beard style, but splayed.
Comments - One of the most popular nymph patterns going. Effective as described and tied in the bead-head manner. The wooduck flank wing case hes been replaced by mallard flank these days.
